The "GLD-10000" is a compact and low-cost simple laser snow gauge that measures the distance from the reflection of red laser light to the snow surface. It operates on a low-power DC12V sensor, with a quick response time of 0.5 seconds, allowing for intermittent operation to save power. The measurement accuracy is within ±10mm on the snow surface (average error ±5mm) and within ±3mm on smooth surfaces.
